General Questions
What types of insulation do you install?
We install spray foam (open-cell and closed-cell), blown-in cellulose and fiberglass, and fiberglass and mineral wool batts. Each type has strengths depending on the application, and we'll recommend the best option for your specific situation.
How do I know if my home needs more insulation?
Common signs include: uneven temperatures between rooms, high energy bills, drafts near windows and doors, ice dams in winter, and an HVAC system that runs constantly. If your home was built before 2000, there's a good chance it's under-insulated by current standards.
How much does insulation cost?
Cost varies by insulation type, area size, and accessibility. Blown-in attic insulation typically ranges from $1.50-$3.00 per square foot. Spray foam ranges from $3.00-$7.00 per square foot depending on open vs. closed cell. We provide free, detailed estimates for every project.
How long does installation take?
Most residential projects are completed in 1-2 days. Attic insulation with blown-in typically takes a single day. Full-home spray foam projects may take 2-3 days. We'll provide a timeline estimate before starting.
Performance & Savings
How much will I save on energy bills?
Most homeowners see 15-40% reduction in heating and cooling costs, depending on current insulation levels and the scope of work. Homes with very little existing insulation often see the largest savings.
How long does insulation last?
Spray foam lasts the lifetime of the building (50+ years). Fiberglass batts and blown-in insulation last 20-30 years if properly installed and not disturbed. We recommend periodic inspection to ensure performance is maintained.
Is spray foam worth the extra cost?
For many applications, yes. Spray foam provides both insulation and air sealing in one step, has the highest R-value per inch, and doesn't settle or degrade over time. It's especially valuable in crawl spaces, rim joists, and areas where air sealing is critical.
Process
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes! We provide free on-site assessments and detailed written estimates for all residential and commercial projects. Contact us to schedule yours.
Do I need to be home during installation?
We prefer that someone 18+ be present at the start and finish of the project. For attic-only work, you typically don't need to vacate your home during installation.
Will insulation installation be messy?
We take cleanliness seriously. Our crews use drop cloths, containment barriers, and industrial vacuums. We clean up thoroughly before leaving and your home will look the same (or better) than when we arrived — just more comfortable.
